Hello and welcome back! This is the Quiltbug News and Views list, an occasional newsletter telling you about the events at the Quiltbug Shop in Guilderland NY. Be sure to bookmark http://quiltbug.com/newsletter.htm to see the latest updates between newsletters. If you would like to receive this newsletter by E-mail, send an email to email@example.com, or sign up in the shop.
I am sure that you have heard by now that I am retiring and the shop has been sold. Selling a business is a bit like selling a house - there are all sorts of legalities involved and it takes more time than anyone thinks is reasonable. But we are making progress! The Grand Opening is scheduled for September 8.
New Fabric is Arriving!
The new owner is still rearranging the shop, but some of her new fabrics have arrived. We will be open 10 - 4 all this week if you would like to stop by for a sneak peek. We were able to reorder some of your favorites!
Did you know we have a blog?
Yes, we are still doing the Row by Row!
The Row by Row Experience™ is fun and easy. Visit any participating quilt shop during the summer and ask for the pattern for a row in the Row by Row, Sew Musical quilt. Each shop is offering one pattern at no charge to customers who visit the store between before September 4, 2018.
Complete a quilt using at least 8 different rows from 8 different 2018 participating shops. Be the first to bring it into a shop to win a stash of 25 fat quarters. (That’s 6-1/4 yards of fabric!) Win a bonus prize for using that store’s row in your quilt. A quilt will be considered “complete” when it is quilted, bound, and labeled. Download the list of participating shops here.
Yes, we will continue the Block of the Month and the Mystery Quilts.
Be sure to subscribe to Scrapdash so you don't miss the fun. Don't worry, it's not another newsletter. Just a quick notification that there is a new post. I post maybe once a week or so - tips, tutorials, free patterns, maybe some travel news or a recipe.
While you are at it, follow me on Pinterest! You never know what I am going to pin. If you have never used it before, Pinterest is like an online bulletin board where users can share their favorite things. Think of it like a cork board where you can save gift ideas, recipes, block tutorials or bookmark your favorite sites. Give it a try!
Top Off Day
Robbie Sutton, a long arm quilter and the owner of Pieceful Hollow Designs will be at the shop Saturdays between 2 and 3 to accept your top and review options with you. That's Top Off Day:-)) If you can't make it on that day, you can leave it at any time and pick out a quilting design from her design book. Robbie will call you when your quilt is done, and you can pick it up here any time. 2018 Dates (weather permitting) are:
